Structural steel
Structural steel is generally part of a building’s primary load-bearing system and is designed around the loads and connections defined by the project’s design professionals.
Commercial metal framing
Cold-formed metal framing is commonly used for partitions, walls, ceilings, and selected exterior or light structural assemblies, depending on the design.
Why the interface matters
Openings, backing, deflection, fire-rated assemblies, building systems, and finish tolerances can cross both scopes. Clear drawings and early coordination help avoid field conflicts.
